For teachers & schools
Every day, teachers stand in front of a room and communicate — explaining, questioning, narrating, encouraging. The way they speak shapes not just what children learn, but how children feel about learning.
At Speech Matters India, we work with teachers and schools to develop the communication skills that sit at the heart of great teaching: voice, diction, prosody, storytelling, reading aloud and classroom presence.
These are not peripheral skills. They are the difference between a lesson that is heard and a lesson that is felt.
Programme overview
Practical, interactive sessions on voice, diction, prosody, storytelling and classroom presence. Designed for teachers at all stages of their career.
Flexible in length — half-day, full-day, or spread across multiple days depending on what the school needs. Available online or in person at your school.
Teachers are often the first public speakers children encounter. This workshop explores how voice, pause, pacing and storytelling shape classroom culture — and how teachers can use them with intention.
A session that consistently changes how teachers think about their own communication.
Practical ways to develop speaking, listening, reading fluency and confident expression across subjects and grade levels.
Grounded in contemporary educational research and designed to be adapted to your school's context, values and timetable.
Shaheen speaks at conferences, professional development days and school events on oracy, communication and the power of the spoken word in education.
Delivery & hosting
All programmes are designed around your school's needs — we work with you on content, format and timing.
We travel to you. Sessions can run from one to three days depending on the programme. The school provides the space and handles local logistics; we handle the content and facilitation.
Programmes can also be hosted at our Mumbai venue. Typically five days for intensive formats.
Live online sessions for teacher groups. Generally one to two hours per session, with multi-session formats available for deeper programmes.
Curiosity over perfection. Participation over performance. Communication is a skill that can be nurtured in everyone.
